A service dog

Organized by Adam Phillips

We're home!
We're almost there!
Christmas Day is only two days away! Adam and Stephanie will be leaving to pick up Scout bright and early that morning. Adam is practically counting the hours.

A HUGE thank you goes out to everyone that has made it possible for us to bring Scout home. AZ Allstars, 3 TV, and AZ Republic all helped to get the word out. To everyone who has donated- thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!!!!!!!!

We're just over halfway to our goal, so additional donations are still needed.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Bad news and GREAT news!
The bad news first- Adam did not get the grant we were hoping for that would help cover the cost of the service dog training. Bummer. The GREAT news.. he's been matched with a dog!!! Her name is Daly, and she's a very large black lab from Laughing Eyes Kennel in New Mexico. She should be ready to come home with him by the end of the year. He will have to go to NM to spend about two weeks training with her before he can bring her home. That leaves us in a position to raise a lot of money in a very short period of time. I'm doing chipin.com, but we're open to any and all suggestions for fund-raising. If you've got any ideas or connections- let me know! Thanks again for your support!!
Welcome, family and friends!
Adam is in the process of applying for a trained service dog to help him be independent. The organizations that train the dogs typically ask for a donation of about $6,000 from the individual who receives the dog to help defray the tremendous cost of raising and training a mobility service animal. Adam has applied to two different service animal organizations to increase the chance he will get a dog in the near future. We started this page to give everyone a chance to be part of this process.
